Big Sing
A monthly gathering exploring how vocal improvisation can help us to develop creativity, collaboration and courage.
Date & Time
04 Feb 2026, 19:00 – 21:00
Treo House, Treo House, 1 Pickle Mews, London SW9 0FJ, UK
About
Building a regenerative society requires us to do things differently and speak up for what we believe in. That requires courage, communication and creativity. Vocal improvisation is a fun and relaxed way for us to develop these capabilities within ourselves.
What is vocal improvisation?
Vocal improvisation uses a mix of playful musical games and simple structures that help the whole room create spontaneous, layered songs. We’ll use call and response, body and vocal percussion, and looping parts. There’ll be dynamic, spontaneous movement throughout so you stay in your body and not “in your head”.
Along the way, you’ll develop your singing and listening skills organically – through doing it, not drilling it. You’ll start to notice how to tune in, blend, hold a part, respond to others, and follow the group’s pulse, all in a way that feels natural and low pressure.
What to expect
The vibe is friendly and safe. No pressure, no judgement, no being put on the spot. Everything is an invitation and you can join in boldly, quietly, or just by listening. You don’t need any experience, you don’t need to be “a singer” – you just need curiosity and a voice.
This is a 2 hour session, followed by a drink in our private Treo House bar.
