OUR BEGINNING

Treo House was born from personal experience. As an environmental scientist, I learnt to always ask ‘why?’. During my time in corporate sustainability, working on problems from climate change and pollution to malnutrition and mental wellbeing, I often found myself asking ‘but why are these problems arising in the first place?’. Of course this is the much more complicated and interesting question. It's the harder question to address, but essential for a regenerative society.

To truly regenerate a system, we have to go about things differently. Whilst I don’t have all the answers to this, I do know that empathetic and honest conversation is the first step. Of course this isn’t a comfortable thing to do, it’s not easy to sit with such contradiction and emotion. Which is why alongside it’s mission to build our collective capabilities in systemic regeneration, the core goal of Treo House is to look after each other. It’s disconnection, individualism and competition that has got us into this mess, and only connection, collectivism and cooperation will get us out.
