Treo House was born from personal experience. As an environmental scientist, I learnt to always ask ‘why?’. During my time in corporate sustainability, working on problems from climate change and pollution to malnutrition and mental wellbeing, I often found myself asking ‘but why are these problems arising in the first place?’. Of course this is the much harder question to address, but essential for a genuinely sustainable society.
It's clear that we need to go about things very differently. This requires us to pool our skills and ideas, acknowledge the uncomfortable contradictions and keep moving forward. It’s disconnection, individualism and competition that has got us into this mess, and only connection, collectivism and cooperation will get us out.
