An evening for people who are interested community building in response to climate change, to connect, share learnings, and discuss how to launch or grow your own initiative.
Date & Time

Treo House, Treo House, 1 Pickle Mews, London SW9 0FJ, UK
About
Community building feels like an increasingly important response to the climate crisis. For those of us passionate about making this happen, we can find ourselves asking many questions;
Where do I begin?
Do I need significant funding to get started?
How do I mobilise enough people to build momentum?
The Green Londoner and EdelGive/SIX are bringing together a group of community builders to discuss what we're learning from this work. Through honest accounts of our experiences, we will discuss the obstacles we've encountered, the lessons we're learning and the practical steps that helped our initiatives succeed.
This event is about sharing practical insights, exchanging ideas and meeting potential collaborators. You can expect to leave with greater confidence, useful connections and a clear next step towards starting or growing your own community initiative.
What to expect
6:30pm: Doors open
7pm: Panel with Q&A
Three community builders will join a moderated panel exploring how they moved from an initial idea to lasting impact, including their first steps, challenges and lessons learned. Followed by audience Q&A.
8:15pm: Small groups activity
Participants will form small groups to explore their own ideas, identify their biggest challenge and choose one practical action to take over the following month.
9:00pm: Final reflections and closing
Who is this for?
This event is for Londoners who want to make a positive difference in their communities, including aspiring changemakers, climate and nature campaigners, volunteers, community organisers and social innovators. Whether you have an early idea, an existing project or simply want to meet like-minded people, you are welcome.
