October Supper Club: Urgency

Many sustainability problems are considered urgent.

And the sustainability world relies heavily on this messaging.

Race to net zero.

National emergency briefing.

Accelerating the transition.

Perhaps rightfully so, these are important problems that need immediate attention.

But how is this sense of urgency impacting our progress and ourselves? Is it working?

Could it be that there is value in slowing down?

What can we learn from nature's retreat and rest in Autumn?

Or could it be that a sense of urgency is fundamental to mobilising the scale of response that's needed?

This is an evening for us to reflect and share our thoughts on urgency.

To ask where our beliefs and assumptions about urgency in sustainability have come from.

To acknowledge what we're observing about it's impact.

We hope to have a variety of perspectives on this topic. As with all Treo House events, this discussion will be held with kindness, curiosity and respect.

Supper

We have chefs on-site who make everything from scratch, focussing on seasonal and nutritious produce. Food is served sharing plates style across the tables. Please note that there are no options for the supper. Our chefs prepare different recipes every time, it's guaranteed to be delicious. All food will be vegetarian, but please let us know in advance of any other dietary requirements. Our bar will be open serving drinks.
