About
For many people working in sustainability, something no longer feels quite right.
Despite years of effort – targets, frameworks and reporting cycles – emissions continue to rise, nature is still being depleted, and the political and economic headwinds feel stronger than ever. Even the most committed practitioners can find themselves feeling disillusioned, fatigued, or unsure how to keep showing up with integrity.
In a time of polycrisis and transition, knowing what to let go of is as important as knowing what to build.
Tending to Endings is an evening gathering designed to hold space for these questions.
Together, we will explore:
What are the challenges we face now in our sector?
Where is our energy best placed moving forwards?
What in our work – and in the dominant culture around us – needs composting to make space for the new?
You’ll be invited into thoughtful dialogue with peers asking similar questions to gain clarity, connection, and fresh insights.
Why endings matter in leadership
Many business leaders overlook endings.
In a fast‑changing world, we often stay in constant ‘go’ mode – moving from one thing to the next without pausing to reflect, learn, or release what’s no longer serving. Projects that should be closed drag on. Strategies linger past their usefulness. Leaders hesitate to let go – and in doing so, capacity, focus and trust get drained.
This pattern doesn’t just show up in organisations – it mirrors what’s happening at a global level too. As we navigate the polycrisis, many of the systems and assumptions we rely on are no longer fit for purpose.
There is a lot we can learn from nature here. Just as compost nourishes new growth, when we consciously tend to endings – projects, strategies, organisations or ways of working – we free up energy for what’s next and create the conditions for renewal.

About the facilitators

Led by sustainability experts and facilitators Jessica Ferrow and Heather Knight, each with over 15 years’ experience in business sustainability strategy, transformation and deep, lived experience of regenerative practices, these workshops combine reflective space with practical rigour.
Heather is one of the co-creators of Tending to Endings, the sell-out card deck that’s reshaping the narrative around how we relate to endings, and which will be one of the powerful tools we’ll introduce in this session.
Heather Knight
Heather is a creative who partners with pioneering brands and organisations in bringing stories of hope and regeneration to life. As founder of Arteri, a design studio rooted in nature’s rhythms, Heather draws on her experiences with burnout and healing through nature to inform her approach. With over 14 years’ experience working with purpose-led clients like Vivobarefoot, Aesop, Finisterre, PANGAIA and Naturalmat, her work aims to inspire connection and collective action. Heather is trained as a nature facilitator and last year, alongside Jessica, she co-created Wintering, 5 gatherings across 3 months that invited a small community to slow down, reflect, and re-align with the wisdom of the seasons. She is also a co-creator of Tending to Endings, a deck of cards that supports richer, more meaningful engagement with endings, whether – personal, collective, or systemic – drawing on metaphors from the garden.
Jessica Ferrow
Jessica is a regenerative mentor, facilitator, and strategic guide who helps leaders, teams, and changemakers find their unique role in building a thriving future – and make it real without burning out. With over 15 years’ experience advising dozens of purpose-led brands including Pukka Herbs, Finisterre, Natracare, IKEA and Unilever, she blends sharp strategic insight with nature-based wisdom to unlock clarity, creativity, and long-term impact. As multifaceted founder of Twelve, Kindred Village and The Regeneralist, Jessica is trained in nature-based facilitation, Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) and is also a trained B Leader, supporting brands on their B Corp journey. She works with both individuals and organisations through transformational programmes, thought partnership advisory, mentoring and immersive workshops in nature.
