About
What if we document our story?
This is a moment of incredible transition, and as a collective of people working in sustainability, we are at the heart of it. So let’s document it. The learnings, the ideas, the feelings, the ups, the downs. Let’s keep a shared journal of our story, as it’s going to be an important one.
Why a journal?
Journaling helps us to make sense of the present.
Working on environmental and social problems isn’t straightforward, there are complex systems, contradictions and deep emotions. Actively recording our stories through writing, poetry, art and photography can be a profound way to learn from our own experiences and honour the process of change.
Journaling creates a story to share.
Stories shape the future, but only if they are shared. By disseminating our ideas and learnings, we can inspire others and catalyse ripples of change.
Why together?
Nature teaches us that in systems, the overall outcome is often greater than the sum of its parts. Whilst we could all record our own stories individually, perhaps there is more magic in co-creation? What happens if we pool our unique experiences, talents and ideas into a shared output? Surely it’s going to be more fun at least?
Why us?
Your story is your story. It doesn’t matter if you wouldn’t consider yourself a writer, poet or artist. The imperfect, authentic, messy stories are endlessly more interesting and insightful than curated ones. And between us we have all the skills we need.
Get involved
If this interests you, join us as we launch the idea by 'taking it on a walk'. Through facilitated exercises in nature, we'll explore what this journal could be, how we could create it, and how we could share it. And this isn't just hypothetical, we're inviting you to be part of making it happen.
Taking Ideas for a Walk
Solving environmental and social challenges needs out of the box ideas. Sitting in a sterile boardroom is unlikely to unlock these ideas, but being out in nature can.
Our 'Take Ideas for a Walk' series brings people together around a specific problem or idea, and explores what happens when we spend a day in the great outdoors.
